Treatment coordinator office at Davis & Goldberg Orthodontics, featuring a glass door, signage, and a dental chair in a modern space.

Davis & Goldberg Orthodontics uses OrthoFi to handle patient accounts. You log in through the OrthoFi link in our site navigation to view your balance, make or schedule payments, update a card and follow insurance claims filed on your behalf.
Orthodontic billing is unusual: one treatment fee is spread across many months, insurance may pay a lifetime maximum in installments, and an HSA or FSA card often sits in the middle of it. The portal exists so you are not calling the office to answer basic account questions.

What Is the OrthoFi Patient Portal?

OrthoFi is the account and payment platform behind our patient billing. It holds your contract balance, your payment schedule, your payment methods and the insurance claim activity on your case in one place, available whenever it is convenient rather than during office hours.

What you can do in the portal

  • See your current balance and the full remaining payment schedule
  • Make a one-time payment or let a scheduled auto-payment run
  • Add or replace a card, including an HSA or FSA card
  • Update the billing address and contact details on the account
  • Track insurance claims that have been submitted and what has been paid
  • Download account records for reimbursement or tax purposes

Where to find the login

The OrthoFi login sits in the main navigation of this site under Patient Resources, alongside the payment calculator and the virtual consult links. Our patient resources page collects those tools in one place if you would rather start there.

How Do I Log In or Recover My Account?

First-time setup

Your account is created when your treatment contract is signed, and the invitation goes to the email address on file for the responsible party. That address becomes the username. If the invitation never arrived, check spam first, then confirm with our team which email is on the account — a second parent's address or an old work address is the usual explanation.

Forgotten password

Use the password reset link on the login screen. The reset email goes to the address on the account, not to whoever is typing, which is worth remembering in a two-household family.

When to call us instead

Anything that changes the terms — the responsible party, the down payment, the monthly amount, the length of the payment plan or a hardship arrangement — is a conversation, not a portal setting. Call or text (336) 887-3168 and our treatment coordinators will walk through options. You can also reach us through our contact page.

Insurance, HSA and FSA Questions the Portal Answers

How orthodontic insurance usually pays

Most orthodontic benefits are a lifetime maximum for the patient rather than an annual one, and carriers commonly release it in installments over the course of treatment instead of in a single payment. That is why a claim can be approved while the portal still shows a balance: the remaining benefit has not been released yet.

Using an HSA or FSA card

Orthodontic treatment is a qualifying medical expense for HSA and FSA accounts. You can store that card in the portal as a payment method, and download account records when your plan administrator asks for documentation.

Two households, one patient

Only the responsible party on the contract can see and change the account. If payments are being split between two households, tell your treatment coordinator early — how the contract is written determines what the portal can do later.

Keeping the Account Clean Over a Two-Year Treatment

Orthodontic contracts outlast most cards, jobs and insurance plans, so a handful of small housekeeping habits prevent nearly every billing surprise we see.

Update the card before it expires, not after

Expired cards are the single most common cause of a failed orthodontic payment. When a new card arrives in the mail, add it in the portal that week rather than waiting for a decline notice, which typically arrives after the payment date has already passed.

Tell us when insurance changes

A new job, a new plan year or a switch in carrier mid-treatment all change how claims are filed. We can re-file against the new plan, but only once we know it exists. A benefit that goes unclaimed for months is money left with the carrier.

Save your records as you go

Download payment records from the portal at least once a year. HSA and FSA administrators, flexible spending reimbursements and tax filings all ask for documentation on their own schedule, and it is easier to have it than to request it later.

Frequently Asked Questions About Paying for Treatment

Does using the portal change what I owe?

No. The portal displays the contract you signed. It does not add fees for paying online.

Can I pay the whole balance early?

Yes, and you can do it from the portal. If you want to discuss what paying ahead looks like for your specific contract, call the office before you submit it.

My payment did not go through. What now?

Check the card on file first — an expired card is the most common cause. If the card is valid and the payment still fails, contact us so a missed payment does not stack onto the next one.

I have not started treatment. Do I have a portal account?

Not yet. Accounts are created with the treatment contract. Before that, use the payment calculator and book a free consultation — the exam, records and the financial conversation happen at that visit.
