Meet Dr. Nikki Wei

Education
Dr. Nikki Wei earned her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, where she majored in Nutritional Sciences with minors in Biological Sciences and Psychology. She went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania, where she completed both her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and her specialty training in orthodontics.

Dr. Wei’s passion for creating healthy, confident smiles inspires her to go above and beyond for every patient. During her orthodontic residency, she was honored with the Ruoff Orthodontic Scholarship Award of Excellence in recognition of her outstanding academic and clinical achievements. Known for her compassionate approach, attention to detail, and dedication to patient-centered care, Dr. Wei strives to make every orthodontic experience positive and personalized. She has experience treating children, teens, and adults with both traditional braces and clear aligners. By combining technical expertise with individualized treatment, she works to create healthy, beautiful smiles that patients can feel confident sharing.

Above & Beyond
In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Wei has been actively involved in orthodontic research. Her work has explored temporomandibular disorders, CBCT imaging of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), and ways to improve orthodontic education and care for patients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). She has presented her research nationally through the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), reflecting her commitment to advancing orthodontics through research, education, and innovation. She enjoys staying current with the latest innovations in orthodontics to ensure her patients receive the highest quality of care.

Outside the Office
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Wei enjoys hiking, reading, clay crafting, and playing the piano. She is excited to join the Triad community and looks forward to exploring the beautiful parks, trails, and restaurants that North Carolina has to offer!
